ACTION: SAVE WASHINGTON’S COAST

BAD IDEA: The Trump administration’s “2019-2024 Proposed Oil and Gas Leasing Program” — a plan to expand offshore drilling on over 90% of the Outer Continental Shelf along America’s coastline. This means that our wild and rugged Washington Coast — its communities, beaches, and marine ecosystems, including the coastal migratory feeding route of our endangered Southern Resident Killer Whales — are at risk from a catastrophic oil spill.

SPEAK UP: Join in the Day of Action to Stop Offshore Drilling, February 5 in Tacoma.
The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) will be holding hearings on the offshore drilling plan all across the country in an open house format. The only hearing in our state will be in Tacoma on Monday, February 5, 2018. Since BOEM will NOT be accepting oral public comment at their presentation on Monday (apparently “hearing” means we listen to them), there will be an additional People’s Hearing where our comments will be recorded (in writing) and submitted as official comment to BOEM.
